Show Answer

Answer:

Correct Answer: D

Solution:

Amphioxus, though aquatic in nature, belong to cephalochordata (lower chordate).

As it lives in water, it has some structural similarities with fish.

These are - (i) Body is slender, laterally compressed and pointed at both ends.

(ii) Along the middorsal side, there is a dorsal fin, at the tail region, there is caudal fin, mid ventrally, there is ventral fin.

(iii) The dorsal fin is supported by fin rays.

But it is important to note that the fins do not have the same structure as the fins of fishes.
