From the human blood, sporozoites enter the liver cells.

The sporozoite grows in size to become a rounded schizont called merozoite.

The latter divides to form cryptomerozoites.

The cryptomerozoites formed during pre-erythrocytic schizogony may enter the human RBCs to start the erythrocytic schizogony, while some of them enter new liver cells to repeat hepatic (liver) schizogony.
