B) AIDS

C) Anaemia

D) Malaria

Show Answer

Answer:

Correct Answer: B

Solution:

The correct option is B AIDS

Western blot test is a diagnostic test which is used in the detection of HIV in serum, saliva or urine.

The western blot is an antibody detection test.

In this test, the HIV proteins are placed within a slab of gel on a membrane and the patient’s diluted serum is applied to the membrane and antibodies in the serum may attach to some of the HIV proteins.

Antibodies that do not attach are washed away, and enzyme-linked antibodies with the capability to attach to the person’s antibodies determine the HIV proteins on which the antibodies are bound.

So, the correct answer is ‘AIDS’.
