$ =(w^{2}+w^{4}+w^{6}+….+w^{20})= $

$ w^{2}(1+w^{2}+w^{4}+…+w^{18}) $

$ =w^{2}[(1+w+w^{2})+…+(1+w+w^{2})+1] $

$ =w^{2}\times 1=w^{2} $
