$ =\tan [ {{\tan }^{-1}}\frac{5}{12}-{{\tan }^{-1}}(1) ]=\tan {{\tan }^{-1}}( \frac{\frac{5}{12}-1}{1+\frac{5}{12}} )=-\frac{7}{17} $ .
