Inverse Trigonometric Functions Question 78

Question: Two angles of a triangle are $ {{\cot }^{-1}}2 $ and $ {{\cot }^{-1}}3. $ then the third angle is

Options:

A) $ \frac{\pi }{4} $

B) $ \frac{3\pi }{4} $

C) $ \frac{\pi }{6} $

D) $ \frac{\pi }{3} $

Show Answer

Answer:

Correct Answer: B

The sum of the two given angles is $ {{\cot }^{-1}}(2)+co{t^{-1}}(3)=ta{n^{-1}}( \frac{1}{2} )+{{\tan }^{-1}}( \frac{1}{3} ) $

$ ={{\tan }^{-1}}(1)=\frac{\pi }{4} $ So, the third angle is $ \pi -\frac{\pi }{4}=\frac{3\pi }{4} $
