Trigonometric Equations Question 24

Question: We are given b, c and $ \sin B $ such that B is acute and $ b<c\sin B $ . Then

[Karnataka CET 1993]

Options:

A) No triangle is possible

B) One triangle is possible

C) Two triangles are possible

D) A right angled triangle is possible

Show Answer

Answer:

Correct Answer: A

Solution:

  • $ \frac{\sin B}{b}=\frac{\sin C}{c} $
    Þ $ \sin C=\frac{c}{b}\sin B>1 $ $ (\because b<c\sin B) $ ,which is impossible. Hence no triangle is possible.
