Trigonometric Equations Question 248
Question: If the angles of a triangle are in the ratio 1: 2: 3, then their corresponding sides are in the ratio
[MP PET 1993; BIT Ranchi 1992; Pb. CET 1990]
Options:
A) 1 : 2 : 3
B) $ 1:\sqrt{3}:2 $
C) $ \sqrt{2}:\sqrt{3}:3 $
D) $ 1:\sqrt{3}:3 $
Show Answer
Answer:
Correct Answer: B
Solution:
- Angles are $ x+2x+3x=180^{o} $ or 30o, 60o and 90o, therefore sides are in ratio of $ \sin 30^{o}:\sin 60^{o}:\sin 90^{o} $ $ =\frac{1}{2}:\frac{\sqrt{3}}{2}:1=1:\sqrt{3}:2 $ . Note: This is a fact. We have used it in so many questions.
