Kinetic Theory Of Gases Question 124
Question: A flask is filled with 13 gm of an ideal gas at $ 27{}^\circ C $ and its temperature is raised to $ 52{}^\circ C $ . The mass of the gas that has to be released to maintain the temperature of the gas in the flask at $ 52{}^\circ C $ and the pressure remaining the same is
Options:
A) 2.5 g
B) 2.0 g
C) 1.5 g
D) 1.0 g
Show Answer
Answer:
Correct Answer: D
Solution:
[d] $ PV=mrT $ Since P, V, r ® remains same Hence $ m\propto \frac{1}{T} $
Therefore $ \frac{m _{1}}{m _{2}}=\frac{T _{2}}{T _{1}} $
Therefore $ \frac{13}{m _{2}}=\frac{(273+52)}{(273+27)}=\frac{325}{300} $
Therefore m2 = 12 gm i.e., mass released = 13gm - 12gm = 1gm.
