CMAT Exam Marking Scheme 2024:
- Candidates will be rewarded with 4 marks for each correct answer.
- 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
- There will be no positive or negative markings for unanswered questions.
How is the CMAT percentile calculated?
The CMAT percentile is calculated based on the individual rank, the total number of candidates appearing for the exam, and the percentile obtained by the individual. The formula for calculating the CMAT percentile as per the CMAT results 2024 is:
Percentile (P) = ((N-Your Rank)/N) x 100
Where: N = Total Number of Candidates who appeared for the CMAT entrance exam P = Percentile
CMAT 2024 Result- Tie-Breaking Criteria:
- A National Merit Ranking (All India Rank) will be determined based on the score secured against the total CMAT score.
- Candidates with the same CMAT score will be listed in chronological (ascending) order based on their date of birth.
- Candidates with the same CMAT score will receive the same merit ranking, and the next candidate will be given a merit ranking that is one number higher than the previous candidate. For example, if there are two candidates with a merit ranking of 2, the next candidate will be given a merit ranking of 4 instead of 3.

CMAT Normalization Process 2024
CMAT 2024 will be conducted in two slots. To ensure that candidates are neither benefited nor disadvantaged due to the difficulty level of question papers in different slots, NTA will conduct a CMAT normalization process.
What after CMAT 2024 Result?
After the CMAT result is declared, the CMAT accepting colleges will conduct further admission procedures for MBA. Each institution organizes the counseling process for the exam differently since there is no centralized coordination for the same.
The individual institutions where the candidates have applied will contact them for further admission rounds. The institutions organize Group Discussions and Personal Interviews for the candidates to take part in and shortlist them based on that for admissions.
Group Discussion (GD):
In this round, the candidates will be divided into groups of 8-10 people. Each group will be given a topic to discuss and debate on. The performance of each candidate will be evaluated and scored based on their participation in the discussion.
Personal Interview (PI): Candidates who are shortlisted in the GD round will proceed to the personal interview round. They will be interviewed by a panel of professors. Each candidate will be called into the interview hall individually. The interview will assess their communication skills, problem-solving abilities, knowledge, and confidence.
Expected CMAT 2024 Cut Off
The cut off for CMAT 2024 will be determined based on various factors such as the CMAT results of that year, previous year’s cut off trends, the number of candidates appearing for the exam, and other relevant factors. The cut off will vary for different colleges accepting CMAT. Top colleges like JBIMS, JIM, KJSIMSR, SIMSREE, etc. are expected to have a cut off of 95 to 99 percentile overall this year.
