IIITB College Review by Student

Hello everyone, I am currently pursuing ECE (1st year) (Dual) at IIITB (International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore). I would like to share some insights about my college.

Quality of Education

• The quality of education is excellent.
• Professors are approachable and make every effort to deliver the content brilliantly.
• Assignments are provided on every topic.
• Tutorial classes are conducted once a week where assignments and doubts are discussed.
• The grading system (competitive or absolute) depends on the institution or course policy.

Campus Infrastructure

• IIITB is spread over 9 acres.
• There are 2 boys hostels, 1 girls hostel, a common mess, and 2 gyms (one for boys and one for girls).
• Classrooms and labs are equipped with the latest technologies.
• The library is filled with books from various domains.
• The mess food is good (maybe the best when compared to all college dining halls).
• Separate food is available for Jains.
• Doctors are available daily and every student has health insurance.

Extracurricular Activities

• You will have a lot of time for extracurricular activities if you attend classes properly.
• There are various clubs and committees available at my college.
• Fests and college events are not grand but average and enjoyable.

Job Placement

• Recent stats are not available but last year the median was 24.95 LPA for CS and 23 LPA for ECE.

Diversity

• For my batch (CS+ECE), there were nearly 15 girls and 16 boys.
• The top 20 girls have a 100% tuition waiver for Sem 1.
• Students from all over India are present here.

Student Community

• Clubs and Committees are managed by students.
• Most of the seniors are supportive.

Location

• As everyone knows, Bangalore is India’s IT hub. This also benefits IIITB a lot.
• Weekly seminars are conducted by various researchers, companies, and professors.

Cost and Value

• Fees for the 5-year course come out to be around 29,50,000 for the upcoming batch.
• It’s high but it does come with its benefits.
