If the sequence of the coding strand in a transcription unit is written as follows:

5’ -ATGCATGCATGCATGCATGCATGCATGC-3'

Answer:

To write the sequence of mRNA, we replace thymine (T) with uracil (U) because RNA uses uracil instead of thymine. So, the mRNA sequence is:

5’ -AUGC AUGCA UGCAU GCAUG CAUGC AUG-3'
