What is the definition of hypoxia, and what are the four types of hypoxia?

Answer:

Hypoxia is a condition characterized by an insufficient supply of oxygen to body tissues, leading to oxygen deficiency at the cellular level. The four types of hypoxia are:

a. Hypoxic Hypoxia (due to reduced oxygen levels in the air or high altitudes).

b. Anemic Hypoxia (resulting from a reduced oxygen-carrying capacity of the blood, often due to anemia or reduced hemoglobin).

c. Circulatory Hypoxia (caused by poor circulation, hindering oxygenated blood from reaching the tissues).

d. Histotoxic Hypoxia (occurring when cells cannot utilize delivered oxygen due to toxins or metabolic inhibitors).
