Problem 4 : Discuss the concept of a coordinate covalent bond with an example. How does it differ from a regular covalent bond?
Solution :

A coordinate covalent bond is formed when one atom donates a pair of electrons to another atom. Unlike a regular covalent bond, both electrons come from one atom. An example is the formation of the ammonium ion (NH₄⁺), where nitrogen (N) donates a lone pair of electrons to hydrogen (H).
