Problem 12 : Explain why the melting and boiling points of noble gases increase as you move down the periodic table.

Solution :

The melting and boiling points of noble gases increase as you move down the periodic table because the atomic size (atomic radius) and London dispersion forces (Van der Waals forces) also increase with increasing atomic number. These forces become stronger, requiring more energy to overcome.
