Atomic Structure Result Question 80-1

80. Find out the number of waves made by a Bohr’s electron in one complete revolution in its 3rd orbit.

(1994, 3M)

Show Answer

Solution:

  1. The Bohr de-Broglie relationship is

$ 2 \pi r=n \lambda=\text { circumference of Bohr’s orbit. } $

i.e. number of complete waves formed in one complete revolution of electron in any Bohr orbit is equal to orbit number, hence three.
