Show Answer

Answer:

Correct Answer: 46. (a, d)

Solution:

  1. The important ore of tin is cassiterite $\left(SnO _2\right)$. Tin is extracted from cassiterite ore by carbon reduction method in a blast furnace.

$ SnO _2+2 C \longrightarrow Sn+2 CO $

The product often contain traces of iron which is removed by blowing air through the melt to oxidise to $FeO$ which then floats to the surface.

$ 2 Fe+O _2 \longrightarrow 2 FeO $
