Excessive release of $\text{CO}_2$ into the atmosphere results in:

Solution

Global warming is caused by the emission of green house gases. 72% of the totally emitted green house gases is $\text{CO}_2$. Therefore, excessive release of $\text{CO}_2$ is the main cause of global warming.
