JEE PYQ: Hydrogen Question 20

Question 20 - 2019 (08 Apr Shift 2)

The strength of 11.2 volume solution of $\text{H}_2\text{O}_2$ is: [Given that molar mass of H = 1 g mol$^{-1}$ and O = 16 g mol$^{-1}$]

(a) 13.6% (b) 3.4% (c) 34% (d) 1.7%

Show Answer

Answer: (b)

Solution

(11). (2 V means 11.2 L of $\text{O}_2$ at STP = 0.5 mol $\text{O}_2$, so 1 mol $\text{H}_2\text{O}_2$ (34 g) per litre. Strength = $34/1000 \times 100 = 3.4%$.)
