$\text{P}_4 + 3\text{OH}^- + 3\text{H}_2\text{O} \to \text{PH}_3 + 3\text{H}_2\text{PO}_2^-$ (A). $\text{H}_2\text{PO}_2^- + 4\text{Ag}^+ + 2\text{H}_2\text{O} \to \text{excess} + \text{H}_3\text{PO}_4 + 3\text{H}^+$ (4 mole Ag).
