$2\text{MnO}_4^- + b\text{C}_2\text{O}_4^{2-} + c\text{H}^+ \rightarrow x\text{Mn}^{2+} + y\text{CO}_2 + z\text{H}_2\text{O}$
If the above equation is balanced with integer coefficients, the value of c is ____ (Round off to the Nearest Integer).

Solution
Oxidation half: $\text{C}_2\text{O}_4^{2-} \rightarrow 2\text{CO}_2 + 2e^-$. Reduction half: $5e^- + 8\text{H}^+ + \text{MnO}_4^- \rightarrow \text{Mn}^{2+} + 4\text{H}_2\text{O}$. Net: $16\text{H}^+ + 2\text{MnO}_4^- + 5\text{C}_2\text{O}_4^{2-} \rightarrow 10\text{CO}_2 + 2\text{Mn}^{2+} + 8\text{H}_2\text{O}$. So c = 16.
