Lithium nitrate decomposes into its oxide on heating: $4\text{LiNO}_3 \xrightarrow{\Delta} 2\text{Li}_2\text{O} + 4\text{NO}_2 + \text{O}_2$. It does not give $\text{LiNO}_2$. This is the incorrect statement.
