(1) Exponential decrease then level off
(2) Decrease then increase
(3) Roughly constant
(4) Continuous decrease

Answer: (2) Pressure decreases then levels off
Solution
Initially, adsorption of gases at the surface of charcoal occurs rapidly, causing sudden decrease in pressure. As vacant sites decrease, adsorption rate drops and pressure tends to be constant.
