Solution

$\text{C} + \text{O}_2 \rightarrow \text{CO}_2$. No catalyst is required. In Ostwald process, Haber’s process and hydrogenation of vegetable oils, catalyst (solid) such as Pt/Rh, Fe and Ni are used.
