(1) $9\sqrt{3}$ square units

Solution
$5x^2 = 2x^2 + 9 \Rightarrow x = \pm\sqrt{3}$. Area $= 2\int_0^{\sqrt{3}} (9 - 3x^2),dx = 12\sqrt{3}$.
