The transfer characteristic curve of a transistor, having input and output resistance $100\ \Omega$ and $100\ \text{k}\Omega$ respectively, is shown. The Voltage and Power gain are respectively:

(1) $2.5 \times 10^4$, $2.5 \times 10^6$

(2) $5 \times 10^4$, $5 \times 10^6$

(3) $5 \times 10^4$, $5 \times 10^5$

(4) $20 \times 10^3$, $4 \times 10^5$

Solution

$\beta = (200-100)/(10-5) = 20$. Voltage gain $= 20 \times 10^5/10^2 = 20 \times 10^3$. Power gain $= 400 \times 10^3 = 4 \times 10^5$.
