(a) Expiratory capacity is the total volume of air that a person can expire after a normal inspiration. this includes tidal volume and expirtory reserve volume (TV + ERV).
Tidal volume of an athelete $=500 ml$ Expiratory reserve volume of an athelete $=1000 ml$
Expiratory capacity $=TV+ERV$
$=500+1000$
$=1500 ml$
