(c) Genital herpes is caused by two types of viruses- herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) and herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2). At present there is no cure for type-II-herpes simplex virus. Other non curable STIs are hepatitis-B and HIV. Vaccines are available for the protection of STDs against infection with HPV, hepatitis $A$ and hepatitis B. Other vaccines are under development, including those for HIV and herpes simplex virus (HSV).
