  1. (a) During the electrolysis of dil. sulphuric acid using Pt electrodes following reaction occurs.

At cathode : $4 H^{+}(aq)+4 e^{-} \longrightarrow 2 H_2(g)$

At anode : $2 H_2 O(l) \longrightarrow O_2(g)+4 H^{+}(aq)+4 e^{-}$
