Hydrocarbons $+O_2, NO_2, NO, O, O_3$ $arrow$ Peroxides, formaldehyde, peroxyacetylnitrate (PAN), acrolein etc.

It is oxidising in nature and causes irritation to eyes, lungs, nose, asthma attacks and damage to plants.
