(a) Diamond is like $ZnS$. In diamond cubic unit cell, there are eight corner atoms, four face centered atoms and four more atoms inside the structure (tetrahedral voids).

Total no. of atoms present per unit cell

$=8 \times \frac{1}{8}+6 \times \frac{1}{2}+4=11$
