Previous Year NEET Question- Laws Of Motion L-2

Question: Calculate the maximum acceleration of a moving car so that a body lying on the floor of the car remains stationary. The coefficient of static friction between the body and the floor is 0.15

$$ \left(g=10 \mathrm{~m} \mathrm{~s}^{-2}\right) $$

A) $150 \mathrm{~m} \mathrm{~s}^{-2}$

B) $1.5 \mathrm{~m} \mathrm{~s}^{-2}$

C) $50 \mathrm{~m} \mathrm{~s}^{-2}$

D) $1.2 \mathrm{~m} \mathrm{~s}^{-2}$

Answer: $1.5 \mathrm{~m} \mathrm{~s}^{-2}$

Solution:

$$ F_{\mathrm{s}}=\mathrm{ma} $$ $$ \mathrm{f}{\mathrm{L}}=m a{\max } $$ $\mu m g=m a_{\max }$ $$ \mathrm{a}_{\max }=\mu \mathrm{g} $$ $$ =0.15(10) $$ $$ =1.5 \mathrm{~m} \mathrm{~s}^{-2} $$
