The efficiency of a Carnot engine is given by

\eta = 1 - \frac{T_C}{T_H}

where $T_C$ is the temperature of the cold reservoir and $T_H$ is the temperature of the hot reservoir. In this case, $T_C = 300$ K and $T_H = 600$ K. So, the efficiency of the engine is

\eta = 1 - \frac{300}{600} = \frac{1}{2} = 50\%

The heat taken from the high temperature reservoir in each cycle is given by

Q_H = Q_L / \eta

where $Q_L$ is the heat rejected to the cold reservoir. In this case, $Q_L = 1200$ J. So, the heat absorbed from the high temperature reservoir in each cycle is

Q_H = \eta Q_L = \frac{1}{2} \cdot 1200 = 600 J
