PYQ NEET- Linear Programming Problems

  • 2018 Question 1: A manufacturer makes two types of toys, A and B. Each toy of type A requires 4 hours of work on machine I and 2 hours of work on machine II. Each toy of type B requires 2 hours of work on machine I and 4 hours of work on machine II. The manufacturer has 24 hours of work available on machine I and 18 hours of work available on machine II. He earns a profit of Rs 200 on each toy of type A and Rs 150 on each toy of type B. How many toys of each type should the manufacturer make in order to maximize his profit?

Let’s think step-by-step.

Let $x$ be the number of toys of type A and $y$ be the number of toys of type B. The total number of toys made is $x + y$. The total number of hours of work on machine I is $4x + 2y$ and the total number of hours of work on machine II is $2x + 4y$. The total profit is $200x + 150y$
