PYQ NEET- Magnetization & Application Of Amperes Law

2019:

The force acting on the electron is given by:

F = q v B

where

  • q is the charge of the electron
  • v is the velocity of the electron
  • B is the magnetic field

In this case, we have

  • q = 1.6 * 10^-19 C
  • v = 10^7 ms^-1
  • B = 10 A

So, the force acting on the electron is:

F = (1.6 * 10^-19 C) (10^7 ms^-1) (10 A) = 1.6 * 10^-12 N

2018:

The torque acting on the coil is given by:

τ = IA B sin θ

where

  • I is the current in the coil
  • A is the area of the coil
  • B is the magnetic field
  • θ is the angle
