Carbylamine test given only by primary amine.

Nitrosamine test is given only by secondary amine.

$ \left(\mathrm{CH}_3 \mathrm{CH}_2\right)_2 \mathrm{NH}+\mathrm{HNO}_2 \longrightarrow \underset{\text { oily nitrosamine }}{\left(\mathrm{CH}_3 \mathrm{CH}_2\right)_2 \mathrm{~N}-\mathrm{NO}} $
