Answer:

Correct Answer: 8. (c)

Solution: Reaction of oxalate with permanganate in acidic medium.

$$ \begin{array}{lccc} & 5 \mathrm{C}_2 \mathrm{O}_4^{2-}+2 \mathrm{MnO}_4^{-} & 10 \mathrm{CO}_2+2 \mathrm{Mn}^{2+}+8 \mathrm{H}_2 \mathrm{O} \\ n \text {-factor : } & (4-3) \times 2=2 & (7-2)=5 & \\ \text { Number of mole } & 5 & 2 & 10 \end{array} $$

$\Rightarrow 5 \mathrm{C}_2 \mathrm{O}_4^{2-}$ ions transfer $10 e^{-}$to produce 10 molecules of $\mathrm{CO}_2$.

So, number of electrons involved in producing 10 molecules of $\mathrm{CO}_2$ is 10 . Thus, number of electrons involved in producing 1 molecule of $\mathrm{CO}_2$ is 1 .
